Memorial Day offered itself for a nice day trip to Temecula. We arrived there around 2pm (didn't want to get drunk earlier) and stopped by at Hart Family Winery. A respectable Syrah and Cabernet franc remained in my memory. Next we stopped by at Stuart Cellars. Compared to the more family like atmosphere Hart winery, Stuart Cellars demonstrated a more business oriented atmosphere. The palate started to get overused, the alcohol level increased and the mood turned into more cheerful. If I remember right, the Sangiovese was not too bad. Finishing up the winetasting experience at Mount Palomar Winery with an interesting Port wine and a good Pizza to prevent complete drunkness we were getting exhausted of so much wine. Overall, we had a nice day with very pleasant company. So if y0u want to do a nice day trip, get out of San Diego with friends and enjoy a sunny day, Temecula is worth a trip. If you want to drink exceptional wines, eat good food, don't want to drive to far and still enjoy nice company, I recommend to go to a wine tasting at WineSellar & Brasserie (http://www.winesellar.com).
Have a nice evening!
